Early Childhood experiences at STAGES foster creativity and expression, promote language development and encourage social, physical and emotional growth. Our half-day workshops allow students focused time to grasp beginning performance concepts and learn the dynamics of working together as an ensemble, while our evening sampler classes are a fun and inviting introduction to a world of creativity!

Create a Classic

Spend two weeks stoking your creativity as we develop and improvise ideas and then collaborate to write and perform our own short play! In the first week you’ll work with a playwright and director to build acting skills and develop characters and a storyline. Then after the weekend break we’ll come back with a script that will be finalized and rehearsed, leading up to our performance for family and friends on the final day. Be ready for some fun and a test of your skills in this whirlwind acting workshop!

BROADWAY PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS

While continuing to emphasize the development of each student’s musical theatre talents, the Broadway Performance Workshops place emphasis on the rehearsal and production process. In these full-day programs students will be immersed in a challenging curriculum of acting, voice and dance classes taught by professional directors and choreographers. These same educators will cast and stage the  production, providing a performance outlet for techniques learned in daily class sessions.

Admission into the Broadway Performance Workshops is by audition only. For the audition, please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song and a short monologue. A simple dance combination will be taught.
Auditions will be held March 27th and April 10th from 1:30-2:30 pm.  Contact the Academy to schedule your audition, 636.530.5959.

Disney's THE ARISTOCATS 

(Ages 8-13)

Another Disney classic comes to life at STAGES in 2010! Be a part of the fun where you’ll have the chance to learn from and perform under professionals in an intensive four-week program. Paris, France and its famous feline residents Madame, Duchess and the rest of her Aristokittens appear in this stage version of the classic animated movie. What’s a cat to do when Duchess and her kittens are cat-napped and abandoned in the Parisian countryside? Luckily, Thomas O’Malley and his rag-tag bunch of Alley Cats come to their rescue! “Hep cats” will abound in this show filled with musical favorites “The Aristocats,” “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat” and more!
