“When I was a kid, I was lucky enough to spend a g “When I was a kid, I was lucky enough to spend a great amount of time with my grandparents. In fact, I credit both of them with my love of the arts and my love of all things STL. One of our favorite, and most frequented spots to visit was The Saint Louis Art Museum. I can vividly remember walking the exhibit halls holding my grandpa’s hand as we talked about artists, styles, themes, and more. I especially fell in love with Monet’s Water Lillies and Mondrian’s Compositions. I actually have prints of these that I believe were purchased at the SLAM giftshop (one of the best around) hanging on the wall of my at home office. There was something so magical about walking room to room and being transported both around the world and through time. I love that, that magic still exists in the heart of Forest Park.

One of my favorite recent memories of visiting SLAM was during 2025’s Roaring exhibition. As a lifelong lover of cars, this was a dream come true. My husband and I attended on a Friday evening and explored the stellar collection of autos and fashion before enjoying a cocktail surrounded by live music and dancing. We then made our way outside for a truly perfect STL evening.

To me, the most special thing about The Saint Louis Art Museum is that, no matter your age, you can still step through those front doors and experience that magical transportation. There’s few other places where that exists and this one is right here in our hometown.”
